William Ben Iturrian, PhD, former pharmacologist and educator, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in pharmacology.
Regarded as a leading pharmacologist in the state of Wyoming during his four-decade career, Dr. Iturrian is highly respected for his expertise, professionalism and integrity. Now retired, he found success as an associate professor of pharmacology at the University of Georgia for 38 years. During this time, he performed and published extensive research in the physiological effects of noise on immature rodents. His expertise in this area led him in achieving statewide success by the Georgia Jaycees. He was also afforded opportunities to impact his industry on a larger scale as a member of the board of directors for Devil’s Cloud Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology. Dr Iturrian’s career was supported by his education, which includes a Bachelor of Science in pharmacology from the University of Wyoming and a PhD in pharmacology from Oregon State University. He is also a registered pharmacist.
In his retirement, Dr. Iturrian has pursued an endeavor as a cattleman, which he was inspired to do as a nod to his childhood. He was raised on a Cattle Ranch in Wyoming on one of the last remaining homesteads in the state. His father taught him how to be a cattleman. Dr. Iturrian established Treasure of Oglethorpe Cattleman in 1996 and has since been involved with Wyoming’s Mitten Livestock, Co. As he looks toward the future, Dr. Iturrian intends to continue in his work as a cattleman as it is his life’s passion.
