Dennis W. Dobritt, DO, DABPM, Physician and Researcher, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Doctors for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Medicine.

With over 35 years of experience, Dr. Dobritt is currently serving as assistant clinical professor of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University and specializes in anesthesiology and pain management. He is also an attending physician at the Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. Dr. Dobritt has dedicated his career to providing pain relief for acute, chronic, and cancer related conditions. He is a recipient of a Marquis Who’s Who Humanitarian Award and an Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award, and has appeared in the pages of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the Midwest, and Who’s Who in the World.

Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1953, Dr. Dobritt graduated from Western Michigan University with a BS in chemistry and mathematics, magna cum laude, and after teaching in the Eastern Michigan University Graduate School he earned a DO from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981. He interned with Garden City Hospital and served as an emergency physician there and with McPherson Hospital. In 1983, Dr. Dobritt joined Providence Hospital as a resident, going on to chief resident in 1985 and to a fellowship later that year. He was named attending physician at Botsford Hospital for one year, and stayed on with Providence Hospital. Dr. Dobritt has also served as director of the Pain Management Center and chief of pain medicine at Providence, as well as director of the Farmbrook Pain Control Center and of the Botsford Center for Pain Control. He founded Tri-County Pain Consultants in 2001 to treat various pain conditions.

Dr. Dobritt has also served the state of Michigan in the ‘90s as Governor John Engler’s appointee on the State of Michigan Task Force on Pain and Symptom Management. He later served subsequent governors on the Advisory Committee on Pain and Symptom Management. Dr. Dobritt was appointed to the State of Michigan Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, and served as a newsletter editor for Osteopathic Pain Management News as well as a guest editor of the Michigan Osteopathic Journal. He is a member of numerous medical societies, including the American Osteopathic Association, the Michigan Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the American Medical Association. In his spare time, Dr. Dobritt enjoys computers, reading, basketball, water-skiing, and softball, as well as working in his wood shop.
